The project Kin ceramics is a family of tableware which started with the
fascination of ceramic. Without ever working with ceramic, the base of the project was to combine two production techniques. I choose two techniques that are quite the opposite of each other; throwing & jiggering. With throwing you create unique objects, where jiggering is ment to be for the mass production. With both their qualities, I combined these two techniques within one selfmade tool. The modulair tool created different kind of profiles in one system. In this way, the tool is the DNA for a family of tableware.
In the process of shape research I worked with the tool and digital. Digital modeling was a fast research with quick results to be one step ahead and sparing material.
