Nowadays we work more often in open workspaces where a lot of noise is produced. Without us knowing, our brain works 66% less productive in these loud environments. My goal is to replace the boring office furniture with a product that is an art piece on itself which fits my way of designing. I am fascinated by graphic design in product design which I translated within this project.
The panels are made from pet felt. This felt is for 60% made out of recycled pet-bottles. The tight structure of the hairs mutes the sound waves and almost disappear in the material. The individual panels are moveable and can be placed everywhere in the room. The work of lines throughout the different panels can be combined to tighter grids that absorb more sound. The user is can determine the amount of silence.
